Coming up in June’s newsletter from Ilminster Avenue Nursery School, you can read about the start of Term 6 and a packed final term of learning and celebration. This term’s curriculum focus is “Contribute to a Musical Performance”, with the children developing skills across all areas of learning to prepare for the end-of-year concert, including working with xylophones and chime bars, building confidence in sharing ideas and performing, developing early mark-making and literacy skills, and exploring life cycles and the wider world. There is also an exciting Twinnies Alpaca visit to look forward to in July, when the company will be bringing farm animals to the nursery for the children to meet. You can also read about the “Back to Basics” section on key independence skills to support children preparing to move to primary school in September, information about the Family Link service with Lucy for families experiencing transition anxiety, a parent governor vacancy, and a request for donations of empty containers to help the children make their own musical instruments.
