Ilminster Avenue Nursery School has been asked to share information about a local support group that may be helpful for some of our families.
Navigation and Nurture is a monthly group for parents and carers who have a child with a profound disability and or medical complexities. The sessions are particularly aimed at parents who are relatively new to this parenting path, often families with children under the age of 8.
The group offers a warm, friendly and welcoming space where parents can meet others on a similar journey, learn more about the support available to them and their children, and share the emotional impact of parenting a child with complex needs. Experienced playworkers are present, so parents are welcome to bring their children along. A small voluntary donation is requested for this.
Sessions take place on the first Thursday of each month from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at St Anne’s House in Bristol. There is a small budget available to help with transport costs for families who might otherwise be unable to attend.
This project is run by Murmuration Community Therapy and is supported by Bristol Parent-Carers and The Family Hubs.
Places can be booked online at www.bit.ly/navandnurch.
