Raindrops and Rainbows Rooms took part in a spider making workshop, an opportunity for parents to come into nursery to experience the learning their children are involved in. This term the children made spiders with their families that they can play together with at home and use to retell “Incy Wincy Spider” and “Little Miss Muffet,” extending nursery learning into the home environment.
Learning nursery rhymes is really helpful for children to develop their vocabulary, gain confidence, and develop memory skills through repetition and rhythmic language. The children have explored new words such as “water spout” and “tuffet,” discovering vocabulary that enriches their understanding of language, and had fun acting out the rhymes with movement and expression.
We love having all the parents come to work with the children and seeing the amazing spiders that are made! We hope you enjoy playing with your children with the spiders at home.
