Sun Room Develops Construction Skills

May 23, 2025

The children in Sun Room have been actively exploring this term’s curriculum goal “Make a Model”, demonstrating remarkable enthusiasm for hands-on construction and creative design. They have been discovering the joy of working with real tools and materials, developing both their technical skills and artistic expression.

The children have shown impressive concentration whilst learning to use hammers safely in their woodworking activities, developing confidence in handling tools with proper technique. They have also been exploring creative model-making using recycled materials, transforming everyday items into imaginative robots and structures that showcase their individual creativity.

Both indoor construction work and outdoor building projects have captured their interest, with the children collaborating effectively and sharing ideas about design and construction methods. Their ability to plan and execute their creative visions has grown significantly throughout the term.

We are delighted with the children’s progress in developing both practical skills and creative confidence. Their enthusiasm for tackling new challenges and working with different materials continues to impress us as we look forward to next term’s adventures.
