Rainbows Room Builds Creative Constructions

May 23, 2025

The children in Rainbows Room have been enthusiastically engaged with this term’s curriculum goal “Make a Model”, exploring construction and design through hands-on building activities. They have been discovering the joy of creating three-dimensional structures using a variety of building materials and techniques.

The children have shown tremendous creativity and concentration whilst working with construction blocks, developing their understanding of balance, stability, and spatial relationships. They have been experimenting with different building techniques, learning how to stack, connect, and arrange materials to bring their imaginative ideas to life.

Through their construction play, the children have been developing essential problem-solving skills, learning how different pieces fit together. They have discovered the importance of strong foundations and have been experimenting with creating both tall towers and wide structures.

We are delighted to see how the children’s confidence in model-making has grown throughout the term. Their enthusiasm for building and willingness to try new approaches demonstrates wonderful resilience and creativity that we look forward to continuing to support.
