We are incredibly proud to announce that Jess Woodman, an Early Years Practitioner in our Raindrops Room, will take on a breathtaking challenge for a cause close to her heart. Jess and her sister will complete a 15,000-ft skydive on Saturday, May 31st, 2025, to raise funds for Metabolic Support UK.
The skydive honors Jess’s brave nephew Reagan, who has a rare metabolic condition called argininosuccinic aciduria (ASA). This rare disorder affects just 1 in 70,000 people and prevents Reagan’s body from producing arginine, making it difficult to break down proteins. Reagan’s journey has been challenging from birth. After experiencing dangerously high ammonia levels, seizures, and falling into a coma as a newborn, Reagan defied medical expectations and continues to show remarkable resilience. Now 11 years old, he follows a strict medication regimen and diet while maintaining the brightest spirits.
“Despite everything he has been through, Reagan is the happiest little boy who takes a smile with him wherever he goes,” shares Jess. “He is determined to live beyond the barriers of his condition.”
This incredible fundraising effort exemplifies the dedication and compassion that makes our staff team at Ilminster Avenue so special. Our community is built on people who go above and beyond, both in their professional roles nurturing our children and in their personal commitments.
